At 20 years old, Collins Kathuli is enthusiastic about fintech and passionate about business and technology. Collins exhibits strong leadership qualities, and it is these leadership qualities that have allowed him to successfully co-found and lead Kyanda, a fintech company incorporated in Kenya. In his role as co-founder and CEO, Collins oversees Kyanda’s operations, including business development and strategy. He leads the creation and expansion of strategic partnerships toward the business’ pan-African expansion.
Transition into Entrepreneurship
In 2020, Collins co-founded Kyanda based on his strong leadership skills. The company is a fintech that offers omnichannel payment solutions, from utility bill payments, payment collection and disbursements, to SMS/Voice services. Though the business was founded in Kenya, it has now recently expanded to South Africa.
Business Information
Kyanda’s business model is mainly B2B, where customers use their built API infrastructure, as well as a widespread network of agents who use Kyanda’s point of sale system for shops. This fintech startup has partnered with banks, telecommunications companies, as well as utility and financial institutions to deliver a 360 approach to financial services. The business’ main goal is to leverage the power of mobile technology to offer the cheapest access to financial services for both businesses and individual users under one umbrella.
