About Constant

Constant Ayihounoun is a 21-year-old entrepreneur from Abomey-Calavi, Benin. His love for agriculture and sustainable farming spurred his entrepreneurial journey. He is the founder of AGRECO, a manufacturing company that produces fertilizers and pesticides. Constant holds a degree in Entrepreneurship and Management of SMEs with a specialization in environment and green economy from the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin. â€‹

Transition into Entrepreneurship

Constant’s entrepreneurial journey began while he was still in secondary school. At the age of 18, he founded an NGO Africabio House to raise awareness about sustanable farming practices in his community. Following the community support he received and the leadership skills he acquired while heading the NGO, he decided to pursue entrepreneurship while attending university. Balancing his studies and running AGRECO was not an easy task but he believes that his unwavering passion for the environment has been instrumental.

Business Profile

After conducting a study on the negative impact of chemical inputs used in agriculture on the environment,  he  decided  to raise awareness  among  farmers  on  sustainable  agricultural production  techniques. While  working  with  farmers,  he discovered  the difficulties they  face, including low soil productivity and pest management. This led Constant to create AGRECO Sarl,  an  organic  farm  input manufacturing  company.  The  company produces organic fertilizers and pesticides and sells them to agricultural cooperatives and green spaces. Since its creation, AGRECO  has already impacted more than 100 people. The company plans to industrialize   its production to maximize the impact   on   the   development  of   sustainable agricultural practices.
